Yesterday marked my 1 yr diabetes journey. I was diagnosed 1 yr ago with an A1C of 7.8 and 240lbs. Today my A1C is 4.8 and my weight is 165lbs. This WOE works. I have not even been tempted to have a cheat day. Its just not worth it. You will see results sticking to this lifestyle.

Back in September of last year 2020 I was diagnosed with Type 2 after being hospitalized with a blood sugar of over 500. I remember feeling defeated, upset and lost. Not knowing what to do until my girlfriend suggested I look for groups on fb for support. I found this group and after talking to my Dr who advised against a lchf diet. I decided to listen to ppl who have actually gone through this and followed the WOE strictly. Today I got my results back from my Dr and the look of amazement on his face made the last few months of strict dieting worth it. He couldn’t believe how low my A1c is now compared to September. He said usually patients drop 1-2% in their A1c but I almost halved mine. Down from 10 to 5.6. He even took me off metformin which is the best news I’ve had in a while. I hated the side effects of it. But I shared this to say thank you and I’ve been a silent creeper for the last few months but I have really tried to take in as much information as possible.

From Linda K. Member of Type 2 Diabetes support group: I want to say that I appreciate this admin team! If it wasn't for you, my sugars would not be going in the right direction!!! Last night reading all the nasty comments towards you made me mad!! People leaving the group, arguing, being snarky etc....it doesn't take a rocket scientist to READ TO BETTER YOUR LIFE!! When I first started this group, that whole week was the same! Arguing, people leaving, etc...kind of scared me but, I stuck it out because I wanted to learn how to take care of myself correctly! I just today used the search bar to find compliant brown sugar and found it!! I've been asking for compliant and I get what's not compliant LOL LOL.... each of you, I'm forever in your debt! You're saving my life with the knowledge and tools that I needed to HELP MYSELF! I know how aggravating your job is in this group!! Just reading some stuff aggravates me for you! I want you guys to know, the day I posted my sugar was at it's lowest yet was 91... What I didn't tell you, it kept dropping that evening, BUT from READING I knew not to be overly concerned until it hit 65.. it got down to 67. Thanks to you, I did NOT go running to the fridge!!!! But was apprehensive about taking my insulin....I did though....there are people in here that thinks you guys are the BEST!! AND IM ONE OF THEM......Merry Christmas to everyone!!!! ðŸ˜Š

Story from Matthew S. Type 2 Diabetes Support group member

first I was on board but thank the lord I found this group before I started doing that. But he said I don’t want you to die young but you will if you don’t change your life starting now and after he said those words I requested a leave of absence from work about 2 weeks and I followed this WOE LOW CARB HIGH NATURAL FAT DIET and I’m telling you I never felt better! My numbers were always 80-105 around 2 months on this woe and my first checkup at the doctors was at exactly one month to see what was going on well outta thousands and thousands and thousands I had the best improvement of health he has ever seen my A1C went down 10.7 to 7.7 in one month!!!!! The beginning of this WOE your numbers won’t be perfect but will be lower however I was so dedicated to this WOE working out everyday walking at least 10,000 steps dojng hard workouts and eating 100% compliant made it possible to get 80-105 readings. Now I’ve heard from many people here I am a beacon of hope for them bc I’m 20 yrs old and type 2 diabetic but I take this as a blessing in disguise bc honeslty my diet was the worst anyone has ever seen! But I am here to tell you this WOE this group is 100% the best thing ever bc we will live a happy long life controlling this awful awful disease with this WOE and we all are here all 31,700 of us and possibly more helping all of us achieve a no meds or insulin and a good optimal A1C and I hope this helps some people I really do. When I go back sept 10 to the doctors I could have gone from a 10.7 to 4.6-5.0 a1c thank you for reading stay strong

I went in for surgery on March 14th of this year and found out I am a diabetic. My glucose was 400 and my a1c was 15. I have another surgery coming up so we did another a1c test on Friday to see where I am at. My a1c is now 7.9! I can't believe it! I have worked so hard, followed the food list and not cheated. My nurse at my primary dr's told me to eat up to 50 carbs per meal and to eat wheat bread. I came home, joined this group and the recipe group just looking for a little support and guidance. I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH MORE FROM ALL OF YOU AND ESPECIALLY THE ADMINS! THANK YOU! My nurse said if I keep going at this rate, I could be off insulin by the end of this year. Thank you so much for all the recipes and guidance...you have saved my life!
