It's been a challenging few days. My nephew's graduation party was Saturday at lunch time. The only thing they had that I could eat was the pulled pork. Everything else was a carb-a-palooza, so I stuck to the pork and water. That night we had a cookout at my sister's house. I had a burger and some baby spinach. Then today a woman brought an Edible Arrangements thing into the office to thank me for assisting with the arrangements for her mother's funeral (I'm the office manager at a church). A nice gesture, but I passed them along to everyone else in the office. My fasting blood sugar was 81 this morning, so this way of eating is clearly working, and I'm not going to quit! LCHF for life!
Most frustrating thing people keep saying to me when I decline their carb and sugar loaded food is, "oh, come on, just a little won't hurt you"! Then they proceed to shove the food in front of my face. Um, sorry but this WOE is working for me and I'm not letting them screw it up for me. My will power is stronger than their peer pressure.

I feel better than I have in years! Thank you to everyone in this group who has and is helping me along the way. You're all great and you're helping to save my life! I suffer from MS, fibromyalgia, DDD, DJD and neuropathy and of course T2 diabetes and I seriously felt miserable & overwhelmed until I found this group. Now that my glucose is in the normal range all of my other illnesses seem to not have as many flare ups and I truly feel so much better!

If your  medication is no longer working like it used to it is probably  because you have added to your insulin resistance by eating potatoes, fruit and whole grains as you stated your dr recommended. No amount of medication will work for very long if you don't cut those high carb foods that add to your insulin resistance and cause the disease to progress.
That's why we have suggested to you to follow our healthy low carb food list. Sheila G
